The Bell Tavern, Knysna’s smallest pub, is a charming and intimate establishment located on the site of the original Belvidere farmhouse. It may be small in size, but it has an enormous amount of character. With its wood-burning fireplace and cosy interior, it’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy a drink and a delicious meal with friends and family.

The pub seats just 36 people inside, or you can choose to dine outside under the pergola, where up to 60 guests can be accommodated. The pub has a unique atmosphere with its yellowwood ceiling, ironwood block floor, and basement wine cellar, which can be viewed through a window in the floor.

A popular spot for both locals and visitors alike, The Bell is known for its delicious pub meals which are made with fresh, seasonal ingredients. The menu features a variety of classic pub dishes, such as fish and chips, gourmet toasties, bangers and mash, lamb liver, burgers, and our famous pot pies. There are vegetarian options and an array of delicious desserts.

The Bell is open daily from 11 am to 9.30 pm and hosts live music two Sundays a month from 12.30 pm – 2.30 pm. Happy Hour on Fridays from 5 pm – 6 pm offers a buy one get one free special on craft beer, cider and gin on tap, and a variety of wines per glass.
